Terrifying Sea Creature !

Terrifying - the great white shark, that is. What with all those movies featuring the shark and its food feast with humans - though I think each and every one of these movies ended up with the shark being killed one way or another.

Still, terrifying.

But the shark is cuter than the Bathynomus giganteus. What's that, a disease?

No. It's this. See for yourself.

What the hell is this ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Looks like something that came out from Alien vs. Predator, right?

This is the Bathynomus giganteus. It is the largest known isopod in the world and these cool creatures raise their heads when someone says "giant isopod". These scavengers are known to be adapted to long periods of famine as food is scarce in the deep ocean biome, its home.

These scavengers feed on dead whales, fishes, and squids.

They can grow up to 14" in length, 1.7 kilograms, and 30" in height.

Terrifying. I would love to see one. But I would hate to remember about it during the night.

So what's the fuss with this isopod?

Nothing big. One of them just attached itself to a submarine that was exploring the ocean floor, and when the submarine resurfaced, well, I can only imagine how people's faces looked like. I mean, this is something that you rarely see - in reality, that is. Notice their abundance in sci-fi movies.

After the incident, searches over the internet about these creatures soared high. That's how I caught wind of this cool bit of news.

Well, to you, my dear reader, if you ever encountered one, I would gladly appreciate if you would take a picture of this creature with you, of course, and send it to my personal e-mail address.

Enjoy sleeping! Prepare for nightmares - that is, if you're the coward one. No offense, mate!

Yes, honey. You are pretty.
