LOVE
Jeff and Changmin waved their hands as Junsu’s car went.
“I missed them,” Changmin said.
“Yeah,” replied Jeff. He turned to face Changmin. “Jae... he’s still...”
Changmin sighed. “He just needs more time.”
“It’s been two years,” Jeff reminded him.
“Remember when he lost his sister during our first year?”
“Yeah,” Jeff said. “Wish he’d let us help him. I always felt useless whenever I see him weak.”
Changmin’s phone suddenly rang.
“It’s probably Robe. I’m going in,” Jeff said as he entered the house.
Changmin answered the phone.
“Hello honey,” Changmin greeted.
“Honey, how are you?” Robe replied.
Her voice – music in the ears of Changmin.
“I’m well. Did you know, Jae and the others came here earlier?
“Oh. Actually, Jae paid me a visit this morning.”
“Really.”
“Yeah, I though he looked manlier now.”
Changmin said nothing.
“But you look so much better than him, you jealous demon.”
Changmin laughed. The lady is really magical, he thought.
Robe laughed, too. “Now that’s better. So, have you heard from the recording company yet?”
“No, not yet.”
“I know you’ll be accepted. Your voice is lovely.”
“Really?”
Changmin sounded skeptical, so Robe said, “Yeah. Even if we never met, if I hear you voice, I’ll say the same.”
“Thank God we met,” Changmin said. He tried to imagine what it would be like if he never met Robe.
“Trust yourself, honey. You’re great.”
“Yeah, thanks a lot, honey. I love you.”
“I love you too, honey. Bye.”
“Bye.”
Robe hung up. Changmin entered the house.
He felt like he’s walking in the moon. He always felt that way whenever she calls.
When Jeff saw Changmin’s expression, he threw a pillow at him. “Hey, you look stupid.”
Changmin was impervious.
“THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!!” Jeff yelled to the top of his voice.
Changmin jumped and started to run towards the door.
Jeff laughed so hard tears came out of his eyes.
Changmin charged towards Jeff and wrestled him when he realized he was tricked. “Hyung, you’re as stupid as Yunho-hyung,” Changmin said, laughing.
When Jeff sobered up, he remembered the envelope given to him by Junsu. He extracted it from his pocket and said, “It’s all crumpled.” He threw another pillow at his brother.
“Let’s open it,” Changmin said.
“IT’S A WEDDING INVITATION!” Changmin couldn’t keep his voice from raising an octave. “It’s Junsu! What a surprise!”
“Yeah, he beat me there, huh,” Jeff said.
“To whom?” Changmin asked, eager for the answer.
“The name is..... Neru. Wait, Neru?” Jeff said in awe.
“Neru. I remember her. She’s the one who hated guys because her first boyfriend just dumped her like she’s nothing,” Changmin recalled. “Plus, she’s a beauty.”
Jeff dialled Junsu’s number in his phone. When Junsu answered, Jeff yelled at him.
“YOU LUCKY BASTARD!”
“See you at the wedding!” Junsu said, laughing. “And oh, don’t forget to read the footnote.” He hung up.
Changmin read it aloud. “On February 14, 7:00 PM, a celebration will be held at my house. Be there!”
“Yeah, we’re going to be there. You will pay, Junsu,” Jeff said.
Changmin laughed. “You jealous demon!” he said, remembering his conversation with Robe. Her voice---
It’s Jeff’s turn to laugh now. His brother is wearing that stupid expression again.
“You really look stupid. Are you really my brother? Ha ha ha.”
