MY DESTINY.
"Hi!" said Robedith.
"Aha! You're tons better than before, when we talked on the phone," Changmin remarked.
Changmin took her hand and led him into the garden at the back of the house. They took each step very carefully. It's 4:10 in the morning. Both of them apparently decided not to sleep.
"We'll walk into Junsu's party with dark circles in our eyes!" Changmin said.
"That's alright. We'll just tell them we are so excited," Robedith replied.
"Yeah, though I think no one will buy that," Changmin responded.
"Why not?" asked Robedith.
"Jeff-hyung."
"Ah. But he won't know, right? He won't."
"Jeff-hyung is smart. I'm pretty sure the moment you set foot on our house he decided that I'm not going to sleep. With you around the house, that's impossible."
"Is that so? Yeah. He is smart indeed. Retina scanner, anyone?" Robedith laughed.
"Ha ha. By the way, how did you get out of his room?" Changmin asked.
"Ah, that. There's no retina scanner on the inside, so I can get out anytime. Hello, if ever I needed the bathroom, how am I suppose to get out of the room if there too is a retina scanner inside?"
"Point taken."
They lay on the grass while talking. The land sloped slightly downward, giving a very great view of the sky and of the sea. The sky is clear. The moon illuminates the skies, vaguely reflected on the surface of the sea. Stars are everywhere, too.
"Ah. Perfect scenery," Robedith said.
"You took that right out of my mouth!" Changmin said, laughing.
"How come I didn't know this place? And a garden at the back of a house? That's uncommon," Robedith remarked.
Bushes of red roses bordered the place. What is amazing about this place is that every time the flowers are in full bloom, like now, the whole place is being covered with rose petals, probably blown by the wind. The romantic atmosphere is natural - so natural it seems it was intended to be this way, as if somebody purposely scattered these petals around to invoke a romantic aura into the place.
"Yeah, but it is genius. Jeff-hyung's idea of course. It's fitting. We can lay like this here and stare at the skies as time flies by, without any care in the world."
They stared at the skies for a long moment while holding hands. They were mesmerized by the sea and the skies. So perfect.
"Let's do this every day, okay?" Changmin said.
"We can't," Robedith replied.
"What? Why?" Changmin asked, turning around to face her. She did the same to him.
"When we're married, we'll have our own place, not this place."
"Then maybe we can go here on our free time," Changmin argued.
"Maybe that's asking Jeff too much. I mean, you owe him a great deal already, right?" Robedith replied.
"But I know he'd be happy to take us as guests. You know how much I mean to Jeff-hyung. He'd be delighted to see me - to see us."
"Hmmmm. Maybe you're right."
"Do you think he'd be alright? Jeff-hyung, that is. I mean, when I leave this place-"
"Yes. He's strong. I can tell that. He's so matured I'm sure he already considered the possibility of you leaving him."
"Well, that's my hyung for you!" Changmin said. "Still, I'm pretty sure he'd feel lonely on the start. But then eventually he will get used to it."
"Yes, he will," Robedith replied.
"Well anyway, when do you want to be married with the one you love, if I may ask?" Changmin said.
"Hmmm. I don't know. Next week?"
"WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT. I doubt a week is enough to prepare," Changmin complained.
"That's my dare for you. I dare you to have our wedding exactly seven days after today. If you fail, well, you don't want to hear it," teased Robedith.
"And if I succeed?"
"Then I'll grant you a wish."
"Anything?" Changmin said, getting excited.
"Yes, honey. Anything. As long as it's within my power."
"It's a deal!"
"Ha ha."
Robedith rested her head on Changmin's shoulder. Changmin wrapped his right arm around her. They stared at the skies again. They looked at the same direction. They breathe in sync. Right now, at this moment, they are one.
"I knew I loved you before I met you. I think I dreamed you into life," Changmin started to sing.
"Hey, not that I don't like the song, but can we do something else?" Robedith said, laughing.
"Hmmm. Okay. Do you have any suggestions as to what can we do here in the dark?" Changmin replied, grinning.
"Hey now, don't get any ideas," Robedith immediately responded. "I'm talking about another song."
"And what song that may be?"
"Let me start," Robedith said, clearing her throat.
'What if I never knew? What if I never found you? I'd never have this feeling in my heart.'
'How did this come to be?' Changmin continued. 'I don't know how you found me. But from the moment I saw you, deep inside my heart I knew.'
Baby you're my destiny. You and I were meant to be
With all my heart and soul, I'd give my love to have it all.
And as far as I can see, you were always meant to be my destiny.
"You sing quite well too, huh," Changmin remarked.
"I know you're lying. Ha ha!" Robedith said.
Changmin looked straight at her eyes.
"What now?" Robedith said.
"I just want to tell you something," Changmin replied.
Robedith rolled her eyes. "Oh, here we go again. It's always been like this. You. There. Speaking. Me. Here. Listening to words that make me blush and shiver at the same time. The way you wield those words of yours is out of this world. I mean, can anybody say something to somebody that leaves them open-mouthed and in awe? Your words sometimes barely reached my mind. My heart's frozen, throbbing like crazy or something along those lines. Sometimes I can't breathe properly, but maybe that's just me being overdramatic. Have read too much Twilight, maybe, but it's true. When you're saying how much you love me.”
"BREAKFAST!" somebody yelled.
"Oh, it's hyung," Changmin said.
"Yay! I'm saved!" Robedith exclaimed.
"Ha ha. Let's go!" Changmin took her hands and together they went into the house.
